Merparten av mina knivar är försedda med handsmidda damascerade blad vilka inte är rostfria. Sörj därför alltid för att bladet är torrt innan kniven åter sätts i slidan, i annat fall kan det rosta. Då bladet behöver vässas bör detta göras försiktigt, gärna med ett bryne och bara den yttersta delen av bladet då du annars riskerar att skada mönstret i damascen. Hornet i kniv och slida bör inte komma i kontakt med fett eller olja då detta kan göra att hornet missfärjas, gulnar. Lädret i slidan bör utvändigt, med jämna mellanrum behandlas med någon form för fett, såsom transparent skokräm eller liknande för att inte torka ut och hålla glansen. Most of my knives are fitted with hand forged damascus welded blade which are not stainless. Always be sure that the blade is dry before You put the knife back into the sheath, otherwise the blade may rust. When the blade needs to be sharpened, this should be done carefully, preferably with a diamond sharpener and only the outermost part of the blade, otherwise you risk damaging the pattern of the blade. The reindeer horn in the knife and sheath should not come into contact with grease or oil as this can cause yellow discoloration of the horn. The leather of the sheath (the outside) should be regularly treated with some form of fat, such as transparent shoe polish or similar to prevent the sheath drying out and maintain luster. The knife is meant to be used as a knife, not screwdriver, chisel or crowbar as this can damage the blade. Also be sure you know how to handle a knife before using the knife, which - if misused, may cause injury. A useful tool in natural surroundings, like this one below.
